Veterans Day is celebrated annually on November 11th and where that date falls on the weekend then the following Monday is deemed a Federal holiday. President Woodrow Wilson declared the first Armistice Day on Nov. 11, 1919. This was passed as a resolution by congress seven years later. Ever since the US has celebrated Veterans Day and cards are a common feature of the holiday.
